(For payments received after October 1st – no guarantee of a tournament
placement – money will be returned if team not in tournament)

NOTES:
1. Organizers retain the final right to switch teams to the division other than
placed, if it is deemed necessary to ensure fairness, competitiveness, and
integrity of the tournament.


2. Tournament Code of Conduct
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR RESULTING IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION
(severity of
discipline at discretion of organizers):
• Swearing
• Using a tone unbecoming of a brother to any individuals present at the
tournament.
• Taunting of players
• Trash talking
• Fighting (ZERO TOLERANCE!)
o All players on the team of the player(s) who throws punches first will be
automatically
ejected from the tournament and premises by the Organizers.
o All players on the team of the player(s) who throws punches in defence will
ALSO be
automatically ejected from the tournament and premises by the Organizers
o For the team of the player defending himself to remain in the tournament,
they must NOT
fight back but rather walk away no matter how difficult it is to do.
• Instigating confrontations
• Poor sportsmanship before/after games

3. Tournament Rules (subject to change at discretion of organizers prior to
tournament)
GENERAL RULES
• All Tournament organizers (clearly marked as such) have TOTAL discretion
to warn/penalize/disqualify any individual or team from the tournament
based on their judgement of said individual’s/team’s conduct (see
Tournament Codes of Conduct form).
• THE SCHEDULE IS STRICT! TEAMS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF THEY
SHOW UP LATE.
• All disputes or confusions are ONLY to be rectified by the organizers.
PRELIMINARY ROUNDS
PRELIMINARY GAMES IN THE MAIN GYM:
1. Games will be 3-on-3 half court, All points count as 1.
2. Each game is 10-minutes. NO stop-time.
3. No stalling of time (e.g. taking too long to shoot). If the referee, in his best
judgement,
believes that a team is stalling he will issue a warning. If the warning is not
adhered to, the team guilty
of stalling will give up possession to the opposing team.
4. Any games tied at the end of regulation will go to a 2 minute overtime. If
after overtime teams are still tied, next point wins.



PLAYOFF ROUNDS
1. The Playoff format will be a ‘one-loss and out’ format.
2. The number of teams advancing to the playoffs will depend on the number
of teams entering the
tournament. As in past years, efforts will be made to ensure that all teams
advance to the playoffs. As
such, the playoff structure will be announced to team captains after the Final
Registration date and
prior to the tournament start date.
3. Teams will be ranked (WITHIN their respective sub-divisions) based first
on won-loss records, then
head-to-head, then on point differential, and finally fewest points allowed.
As Captain, by registering on behalf of myself and my team, I acknowledge
and represent that I have
read and understood this document, AND that the consequence of breach
on my part, or any player on my team, of any of the above statements results
in a non-refundable team registration fee, my team’s automatic ejection from
the Tournament and premises, as well as a possible predetermined
monetary fine payable immediately to Organizers (amount of penalty
dependent on severity of violation).

4. Tournament Waiver
I, hereby acknowledge that I individually assume all risk of injury or loss
arising from my direct or indirect participation (in any form, be it as a player,
volunteer, observer, etc.) in The I-Slam Basketball Tournament (the
“Tournament”) and that the “Organizers” (including, but not limited to, I-Slam,
MY-CO, MSA, or any individual or other group directly, or indirectly, involved in
the organization of the Tournament) of the Tournament, are not responsible
for any personal injury, including theft, death, or loss/damage to personal
property that might be incurred directly or indirectly as a result of my
participation in this Tournament.



Furthermore:
1. I understand that I will be held responsible by the Organizers of the
Tournament, for any theft, damage (e.g. NO HANGING ON RIMS-IMMEDIATE
EJECTION! NO WARNINGS) or loss of property caused by myself either
directly or indirectly to the premises and am responsible for compensating
the Organizers for FULL value of damage.
2. I understand and approve the usage of my image/likeness by the
organizers of this tournament in any marketing
initiatives related to future I-Slam branded/related basketball tournaments.
3. I understand that a NO REFUND policy takes effect after the Final
Registration . I have read the associated Rules and Regulations and Codes
of Conduct forms provided by the Organizers on the website, and that the
consequence of breach on my part of any of the statements in the
rules/regulations/waiver/individual responsibility or codes of conduct forms
results in a non-refundable team registration fee, my team’s automatic
ejection from the Tournament and premises, as well as a possible
predetermined monetary fine payable immediately to Organizers (amount of
penalty dependent on severity of violation).
